I confess, before I tried this tea, I had never heard of either Tulsi or Moringa. It turns out that they make for a lovely, light-bodied beverage, perfect for drinking hot or iced.
Organic India produces many blends of teas made from Tulsi, a.k.a. Holy Basil. This particular blend of Tulsi, Moringa, and lemongrass has a delicate and refreshing flavor. I found it to taste like a combination of green and black tea, with just a little bit of tannic body and a slightly bitter finish. There’s also a teensy hint of menthol that imparts a gentle cooling sensation, which is even more pronounced when the tea is chilled.
The health benefits of Tulsi tea are widely touted in Ayurvedic medicine. While I can’t personally speak to any of these health claims, it was definitely a relaxing experience to drink a cup of this flavorful brew! I’m glad to have another caffeine-free, herbal tea to add to my rotation.
